The Dutch-caribbean Shabu (14) lives an inner-city flat called Peperklip (The Paper cClip) in one of the most notorious neighborhoods in Rotterdam South, the Netherlands. He dreams of being a famous musician. In this feel-good film we enter the neighborhood seen through his eyes, vibrant and exuberant, exciting and fun. A colorful loving environment where everyone knows and supports each other. Shabu needs that support, because he has a big obstacle to overcome this summer; he angered the most import woman in his life; hisgrandmother. He crashed her car joyriding during while she is on vacation in Surinam. So instead of working on his music career he will have to do everything he can to compensate the damage done. Meanwhile, he has his first girlfriend, but love proves not to be so easy. Dealing with friends, family, a love life and music, Shabu learns how to find balance.
