Jessica Kingdon is a Chinese American director and producer. She was nominated for the 2022 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for directing the documentary Ascension.

Alina Gorlova

Alina Gorlova is a director, writer, and film editor, based in Kyiv, leading other young filmmakers of the Eastern European filmmaking community. Alina is experienced in making fiction short films, as well as social and commercial ads. Her second documentary No Obvious Signs won multiple awards, including the MDR film award for outstanding Eastern European Movie at DokLeipzig, 2018. Alina was a 2019 Berlinale Talents recipient and CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator participant. Her new film, This Rain will Never Stop, has successfully premiered in IDFA in 2020 and won for Best First Appearance.

Melanie Sien Min Lyn

Melanie Sien Min Lyn co-directed the film Choices/Voices with Sara Dutch, as part of the feminist film collective KINOKAS. A recurring theme in her crossmedia work is resistance within neoliberalism and encounters between humans and technology, articulated through a video and performance practice. She also works in art facilitation and theatre.

Ruben Desiere

Ruben Desiere (Belgium) studied film in Ghent. In 2014 he finished his master's with Kosmos. The mid-length creative documentary was shown at IFFR. Desiere is co-founder of the production company Accattone Films and of Sabzian, a Belgian website on film. The Flower Shop is his feature film debut.

Veronika Lišková

Veronika Lišková is a Czech director and screenwriter. Her feature debut Daniel's World (2014) was screened in the Panorama section at the Berlinale festival. In the past, she has also worked as editor-in-chief of Nový prostor magazine, led the international educational programme Ex Oriente Film and curated the DAFilms platform. She is currently working on her feature debut Rok vdovy.

Zdenka Sokolíčková

Zdenka Sokolíčková works at the Arctic Centre in Groningen, the Netherlands, and at the same time teaches at the University of Hradec Králové. From 2019-2022, she was a host researcher at the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo, where she researched life in the rapidly transforming Arctic town of Longyearbyen under the supervision of Thomas H. Eriksen.

Tomáš Kratochvíl

Tomáš Kratochvíl grew up in the village and has worked with a camera since his youth. At the university in Prague he discovered the world. He applied unsuccessfully to FAMU many times. He lived in the Roman ghetto. He blocked neo-Nazis. He sailed as a refugee to Europe. He has children of his own and stepchildren. His films have screened at festivals at home and in Europe.

Myro Klochko

Myro Klochko was born in Ukraine, in 2019 she got a bachelor's degree in film directing at FAMU in Prague. Since then she desperately looks for her own film path, which sees in combining documentary with fiction and creating magic realism in film.

Andrii Bondarenko

Andrii Bondarenko is a Ukrainian playwright, director, cultural researcher, doctor of philosophy (PhD). Currently works as the head of the literary and dramatic department of the Lviv Puppet Theater. Co-founder of Theatre of Playwrights (Kyiv). Participant of the Worldwide Ukrainian Play Readings Project. Director of the short film "Night with Natalia" (2017).

Anatoliy Tatarenko

Anatoliy Tatarenko was born in 1989. In 2012 graduated from Kharkiv State Academy of Culture, Faculty of Cinema and Television Arts, where he studied cinematography. In 2016, his photographic organization Periscope started publishing books and organizing exhibitions. Anatoliy works with photography, theater, and videography.

Maria Iovine

Maria Iovine has always dealt with topics related to women. In 2015, she decided to combine her two passions, cinema and women's issues, and created Original Sin, an audio-visual project about gender issues, for which she was awarded among the 100 creatives of the Lazio region in 2018. Her short film In Her Shoes, released in February 2019, has been screened at national and international festivals and received numerous awards and special mentions. In 2022, she directed the documentary Body to Body.

Sander van Bussel

Sander van Bussel is an artist and the initiator of the Human rights tattoo project, which was created in 2012. His goal is to tattoo the entire text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through 6773 individual letters to different people around the world. In his work, Sander van Bussel focuses on community art, connecting people, social interaction and experimental art.

Corinne van Egeraat

Corinne is an independent documentary filmmaker and producer. Her production company ZINDOC is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She regularly works together with her partner, Czech/Canadian filmmaker Petr Lom. They make creative documentary films for broad international audiences, for cinema, film festivals and TV.

Petr Lom

He received his Ph.D. in political philosophy from Harvard and was Associate Professor at George Soros’ Central European University in human rights and philosophy. In 2003, he became an independent documentary director and cinematographer specializing in human rights film. His award-winning films have been broadcast in over thirty countries and screened at more than three hundred and fifty film festivals around the world including Sundance, Berlinale, Locarno, Rotterdam, Venice and IDFA.

Saila Kivelä

Saila Kivelä is a Finnish director and animal rights activist. She spent three years of her youth in a legal battle. She has a degree in political science and communication from the University of Helsinki. Saila worked as a journalist and produced cultural events.

Irena Taskovski

Založila a riadi predajnú a produkčnú spoločnosť Taskovski Films v Londýne s pobočkami v celej Európe. Irena pracuje ako filmová konzultantka pre mnohé filmové inštitúcie ako napr. HBO Europe, TRT world, Asian Cinema Fund, Dok.incubator CZ, Sources Germany a MFDF Ji.hlava. Absolvovala FAMU v Prahe, študovala aj na National Film & Television School v Londýne. Irena vzdeláva a je aktivistkou vo filmovom priemysle.

Erik Winker

Erik Winker – člen medzinárodnej poroty

Erik Winker pôsobí v oblasti dokumentu už viac ako 20 rokov. Je jedným z troch generálnych riaditeľov CORSO Film. Produkcie CORSO sa pravidelne objavujú na festivaloch, v televízii a v kinách po celom svete a získavajú množstvo prestížnych nominácií a ocenení. Erik pracuje ako lektor medzinárodných workshopov ako Dok.Incubator, Ex Oriente, EsoDoc a Documentary Campus a je pravidelným členom festivalových a finančných porôt.

Jindřich Andrš

Jindřich Andrš – člen medzinárodnej poroty

Jindřich Andrš vyštudoval dokumentárnu tvorbu na FAMU a teóriu filmu na Karlovej univerzite a Edinburgh Napier University. Jeho celovečerný dokumentárny debut Nová šichta (2021) získal množstvo ocenení poroty a divákov (DOK Leipzig, FIPADOC, MFDF Jihlava, Jeden svet Bratislava, Ceny českých filmových kritikov, nominované na Európske filmové ceny a iné). Ako producent dokončil medzinárodne úspešný krátky film Pripyat Piano – „dokumentárny koncert“ z Černobyľu.

Allice Tabery

Allice je producentka dokumentárnych filmov. V roku 2012 pracovala pre svetového obchodného zástupcu Celluloid Dreams počas filmového trhu v Cannes. Je členkou nezávislej filmovej produkčnej spoločnosti Cinepoint.

Movies that Matter podporuje akcie, ako sú projekty mobilného kina, filmové festivaly o ľudských právach, cestovateľské filmové festivaly, festivaly s projektmi filmového dosahu, ktoré propagujú dialóg o LGBTI alebo právach žien a ďalšie.
