How and where can I watch the films?

The films will be in Bratislava cinemas and online this year. You can find them in our program.

What are the ticket types?

Full Festival Pass and single tickets for individual film screenings. With a Festival Pass you can watch as many films as you want – just come to the screenings in Bratislava cinemas or watch films online. A single ticket allows you to see one specific film.

Festival Passes are on sale until 31 October. Single tickets are on sale from 1 November 2022. For pricing information, please see the ticket section.

How to watch movies online with a Festival Pass?

During the festival, we will make 4 to 5 films available on our website every day at 12:00, which you will be able to watch online in the details of each film. They will be available for 24 hours. (from 12:00 noon to 12:00 noon the next day)

To watch movies online, you need your Festival Pass number (the 13-digit number in the QR in the .pdf file of your Festival Pass). Get it and proceed step by step:

  1. Step: Find the movie you want to watch online in the program
  2. Step: Click on WATCH MOVIE and in the NUMBER field enter 1pc. Then enter the 13-digit Festival Pass number (located next to the QR code in the .pdf file of your Festival Pass) in the DISCOUNT CODE field. Please also fill in the other required fields.
  3. Step: You can play the film immediately after purchase by clicking on the blue arrow icon. You will also receive a link to the movie by email after the transaction is complete.

Online movies can only be watched in Slovakia.

How do I watch movies online if I don’t have a Festival Pass?

During the festival, we will make 4 to 5 films available on our website every day at 12:00, which you will be able to watch online in the details of each film. They will be available for 24 hours. (from 12:00 noon to 12:00 noon the next day)

In the movie details, clicking on “Watch Movie” will open the purchase of a single ticket for online movies. You will be able to purchase such a ticket from 1st of November but also just before the 24-hour period expires and watch them within a span of up to 3 hours. The link to the movie will come directly to your email, or you can open it in the window that will appear immediately after you have successfully completed the transaction.

Online movies can only be watched in Slovakia.

How do I turn on subtitles when watching online?

In the bottom right corner you will find the “CC” icon, click on it and choose your subtitle language. Please note that Chrome Cast does not support subtitles. We recommend using Chrome and Firefox for playback. In case of problems, try another browser or device – tablet, mobile. If the problem persists, please contact us.

Screenings in cinema theatres

Selected films will also be available in Bratislava cinemas. They will be enriched with meetings with directors, filmmakers, inspiring guests, discussions and other accompanying events. If you have a Festival Pass, just show up. Single tickets for the film can be purchased online at the film details no earlier than 1st of November.

What should I do if I want to watch a film as a deaf or visually impaired person?

In the Program section, select “Program for visually and hearing impaired viewers” via the filter. In the program you will see all the films and accompanying events we have made available to you – both online and live.

How much do single tickets for films cost?

Can I buy a ticket in any other way other than online?

There are two sales points for people who want to buy their ticket in cash. It is possible to buy tickets for any of the festival’s screenings here, as well as for screenings in other cinemas such as the Mladosť Cinema.

Every day during the festival from 17:00 to 20:30.

Can I use my Festival Pass both online and offline?

Yes, passes are valid for both theatrical and online screenings. In the event of an adverse epidemiological situation, male and female viewers will still be able to make full use of their season tickets for safe online screenings from their homes.

With the Festival Pass, you can watch as many films as you want – just come to screenings in Bratislava cinemas or watch films online.

With the Festival Pass you get a 2€ discount on all yoga classes during the festival at the Yoga House.

DAFilms Junior

The coupon can be redeemed from the beginning to the end of the festival, and a free one-year subscription to DAFilms is available from the moment of activation.

How to use the coupon?

  1. Register on DAFilms.sk/junior in the top menu by clicking Login. If you have already registered, proceed to point 2.
  2. Click on the blue Subscribe button.
  3. In the following window, click on the message Do you have a discount coupon? Use it.
  4. Enter the coupon and your free subscription will be activated.

Is watching films geographically limited?

Yes, due to licensing agreements, online viewing of films is only possible in Slovakia.

Will there be side events during the festival?

Yes, we’ve got discussions, Q&As with directors and filmmakers and many other side events every day. See the program for details.

How can I participate in the side events?

You can come to the side events for free. You can also follow the discussions online on our Facebook page.

Will festival merch be available this year?
